Matt Dionne is an Associate Principal and Project Architect at Ennead Architects. He plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the project documentation effort, managing the technical development of the drawings and specifications, and coordinating the work of the consulting engineers. Matt’s experience is deeply rooted in research laboratories, and healthcare projects including New York City high-rise buildings. Of particular interest to him is how we integrate holistic and sustainable practices seamlessly into the early phases of the projects he works on. Matt is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council.
Lois Mate has applied her vast knowledge of academic, laboratory, and healthcare projects to the planning and programming efforts upon which their success depends. She brings specific experience in programming and planning academic laboratories with undefined user groups, multiple stakeholders, complex programmatic requirements, and site constraints. Her recent projects include the University of Oregon Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact Building 1, NYU Langone Health Science Building, Weill Cornell Medicine Belfer Research Building, New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute, University of Michigan Biomedical Science Research Building, and UC Santa Cruz Interdisciplinary and Instructional Research Building. Lois is co-chair of the AIANY Science and Research Facilities Committee and co-leader of Ennead’s Laboratory Center of Excellence, focusing on metrics, trends, and innovation in both institutional and private-sector research building and master planning projects.
As a Project Architect at Ennead Architects, Tzara has experience working on various, complex projects ranging from residential/commercial , retail, and healthcare. She believes that an architect has a social responsibility to improve her profession and the communities she impacts as a whole; a project’s positive qualities are not dictated by its budget, scale or location but by the architect’s thoughtfulness, engagement and passion.
A senior member of Taconic’s life science subsidiary, Elevate Research Properties, Matt oversees most aspects of development and leasing for all life science investments. A leader in the field, Matt has over 25 years of experience in the design, programming, and construction of science and research facilities. Matt’s approach focuses on the process and concepts behind the science itself, the workflow, and the functional needs of those who the space is designed for. This enables Matt to develop the scientific workplace as an efficient and collaborative discovery ecosystem. Matt’s knowledge and experience helps him create real estate solutions that provide function and flexibility. Matt’s work has been recognized for innovation and integration including recognition in the prestigious “Lab of the Year” Awards. Prior to Taconic, Matt was a Partner and the Practice Leader for Science and Technology Architecture at Perkins & Will’s New York Studio and a sought-after consultant and advisor.
Kevin McClurkan is a Management Partner in Ennead Architects. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he was awarded the University’s Edward Durrell Stone Award for Excellence in Design. He is a Board Member of the University of Arkansas School of Architecture, Professional Advisory Board. Kevin is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
Peter Schubert fuses a passion for urbanism with iconic architecture that integrates local culture, history, and context. His aim is to create purposeful buildings and civic places with mutually reinforcing aesthetic and urbanistic goals. Peter believes that the practice of architecture is a process more nuanced and refined than simply shaping buildings; rather, it is the logic and craft of making the public space that surrounds us. He finds meaning in creating experiences that encourage the interplay between formal strategies and civic goals to produce beauty and inspiration in the urban environment.
David Tepper is a Principal at Ennead Architects and leads the firm’s healthcare practice. David focuses on strategic planning, campus design, infrastructure and implementation for complex healthcare environments, working with stakeholders to define priorities and build consensus. He has a special expertise in resilience for essential facilities and works with institutions to plan for continued climate change, retrofit existing buildings, and establish standards for mission-critical facilities. David received a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University in 1995 and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 1991. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Society for Campus and University Planning.
Chris Stoddard has nearly three decades of experience managing large, complex commercial, hospitality, laboratories and higher education projects in the US and abroad. His meticulous approach to scope, schedule and budget are matched by his broad experience in building systems and construction methods. He brings the collaborative spirit of integrated design to his work by pursuing the common goals of each project’s mission. Throughout his career he has sought to maximize sustainable and wellness features to minimize environmental impact and design healthy, resilient buildings.
